Residence permit (titre de séjour)
The document allowing a non-EU national to live in France for more than three months: a temporary or multi-year residence card, or a resident card.
A temporary residence card lasts up to one year, a multi-year card up to four years and a resident card ten years. The reason for the stay (work, studies, private and family life…) is printed on the card.
For naturalisation you must be lawfully resident both when you apply and when the decree is signed.
