SDANF
The Sub-Directorate for Access to French Nationality, the Ministry of the Interior department that makes the final decision on naturalisations.
After the préfecture gives its opinion, the file goes to the SDANF, based in Rezé near Nantes. It checks the file, may ask for extra documents and prepares the naturalisation decree.
This stage often takes several months; progress remains visible on the ANEF.
