CIR — Republican Integration Contract
The contract between the State and a foreign national admitted to reside for the first time, committing them to civic and, where needed, language training.
The CIR is signed during an appointment at the OFII. The civic training covers values, institutions and practical life in France; the language training aims at a level of French set by the regulations.
Complying with the CIR counts towards a multi-year residence card and later towards naturalisation.
